12 year old San Jose boy shot on Halloween while Trick or Treating. This violent attack has left the Matheson school student in grave condition.  The SJPOA has set up a Victim's Assistance Fund for his family at this time of need.

Help to replace a Hilti rotary hammer stolen from Chris Coutinho of Troop 294 last Friday as he and others in his trip worked to renovate the area at the Jeffrey Fontana Memorial Park in San Jose.  Estimated cost to replace borrowed hammer is $5000.  Chris with the help of others in his troop has finished the project and since he is on his way to his Freshman year of college in Humboldt, his father is overseeing the replacement of the stolen property.

The mission of the Victims' Assistance Program is to support Community Policing by helping to reduce the Community's fears and burdens from criminal activity. The Program will provide financial assistance to victims of violent crime or loss of property by building a partnership with the victim(s), the media, police officers, and members of the community. The Victims' Assistance Program will partner with local and national media to bring greater attention and community support to the needs of crime victims in our city. The program will consider applicants referred by the local media and will accept contributions from local businesses and residents to assist victims. All contributions are tax deductible. Enrique Flores, 35 was fatally stabbed while walking to the market.  He is survived by his girlfriend and their 5-yr old daughter.  He was sole support for the family.  He has other family members locally. We are accepting donations to assist in burial and funds for his daughter.
