Franco Vado has been a Police Officer since 1992. He spent the first two years as a reserve with the Fremont Police Department and the last seventeen years with the City of San Jose. While with San Jose, Franco has worked in the Cruise Management Detail, Parks Enforcement Unit, Horse Mounted, and as a Training Unit Instructor. He has been certified to patrol on bicycle, horseback, and in 4X4 vehicles. Franco teaches defensive tactics and arrest control, driving, and first aid
Prior to joining the Police Department, Franco spent two years as a juvenile counselor at the Santa Clara County Juvenile Hall where he supervised minors awaiting trial or placement in long-term facilities.
Franco was born and raised in San Jose and lives here with his wife and two children. His free time is spent coaching youth soccer, volunteering at his children's school, and spending time with his friends and family.
