Serving San Josť Police Officers Since 1962!

SJPD has long been a leader in progressive policing. We are well known for our use of technology, and our approach to crime and crime prevention in San Jose.

Charitable Foundation

The men and women of the SJPOA are dedicated to preserving our community, our state and this great nation. The purpose of the San Jose Police Officers' Association Charitable Foundation is to provide financial support for the charitable projects of the San Jose Police Officers' Association. Funds for these projects are raised through member contributions, participation by members and the community in fund raising events, and public fundraiser campaigns.

Mission

The mission of the San Jose Police Officers' Association Charitable Foundation is to support organizations related to the police community, and community policing.

The four principal areas of support are:

Police Survivors and Police Memorial Organizations:

  • These organizations typically provide financial and other support to police survivors, provide memorials and maintain memorial facilities for fallen police officers. Such organizations include: COPS, California Peace Officers Memorial, Community Foundation/Veterans Memorial.

Police Organizations:

  • These organizations typically are established to improve the peace officer profession through training and organizational relationships. Such organizations include: California Narcotics Officers; Association, Santa Clara County Peace Officers' Association, Golden Badge Foundation, PACT (People Acting in Community Together), and the Special Olympics.

Organizations Benefiting Youth:

  • These organizations provide constructive activities for youth. The SJPOACF recognizes that activities that provide positive activities reduce youth problems. Such organizations include: San Jose PAL Scholarship Fund, San Jose Hockey Club, Oak Grove Little League, Big Brothers, Big Sisters, Abrazos & Books, Boys and Girls Clubs of Silicon Valley, East Side Heroes, and Safe from the Start.

Organizations Benefiting Community Policing:

  • These organizations are outside the police community, but provide support to law enforcement, to reduce crime and form a better environment for citizens. They also provide recognition to peace officers and agencies. These organizations include: Exchange Club of San Jose, Blue & Gold, PAAF, American Red Cross, Mother's Against Drunk Driving, and Next Door Solutions to Domestic Violence.
