Charitable Foundation

The San Jose Police Officers’ Association Charitable Foundation (SJPOA CF) was founded in 1985 and provides financial support to charitable organizations within the community. Funding is made possible through SJPOA members’ contributions, outside donations, and fundraisers. The SJPOA CF supports five main categories of programs:
Organizations that benefit our community’s youth
The SJPOA CF recognizes that providing positive activities helps to reduce the amount of problems going forward. Some of these organizations include: San Jose Police Athletics League (PAL), San Jose Hockey Club, Oak Grove Little League, Big Brothers, Big Sisters, Abrazos and Books, Boys and Girls Clubs of Silicon Valley, East Side Heroes, Safe from the Start, Blue Christmas Toy Drive, Cops Care Cancer Foundation, Kinship, Adoptive, and Foster Parent Association (KAFPA).
Organizations that strengthen the bond within the community
Making activities available allow people to come together and create a positive environment to live in. Organizations that aide in this include: the Police Amateur Athletics Foundation (PAAF), the Special Olympics, People Acting in Community Together (PACT), and the American Red Cross.
Organizations that provide support to our community’s policing
Important organizations that help reduce crime include: Mothers Against Drunk Driving, Next Door Solutions to Domestic Violence, the Exchange Club of San Jose, Silicon Valley Crime Stoppers, Golden Badge Foundation, Santa Clara County Peace Officers’ Association, and the California Narcotics Officers’ Association.
Organizations that benefit Police Survivors and Police Memorials
San Jose Police Chaplaincy, Injured Officers’ Assistance Program, San Jose Police Foundation, San Jose Police Emerald Society, Concerns Of Police Survivors (COPS), California Peace Officers’ Memorial Foundation, Knot On Call, and DreamPower Horsemanship.
Victim’s Assistance
The Victim’s Assistance program supports community policing by providing financial assistance to victims of a violent crime or loss of property. A partnership is built with the victim(s), police officers, the media, and members of the community. Learn more here.
