Memorial Day

Monday May 25, 2026 marks the day of remembrance this year that is federally recognized as Memorial Day. We remember and honor the military heroes who laid their lives down in order for our country to remain free. Their sacrifice and bravery should never be forgotten.

Public safety never takes a holiday and many officers will be working over the weekend to protect our communities. The SJPOA thanks officers everywhere for their service during the holiday, so others may enjoy a day of family, friends, and remembrance.

Please take a moment to reflect on those who died defending our nation. God bless our fallen soldiers and their families.
